ON THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE DEATH PENALTY TOWARD TRAITORS OF THE MOTHERLAND, SPIES, SABOTEUR-SUBVERSIVES

Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, 12 January 1950

In consideration of petitions received from national republics, from trade unions, peasant organizations, and likewise from cultural figures on the indispensibility to make changes in the Decree to abolish the death penalty, so that Decree would not apply to traitors of the motherland, spies, and saboteur-subversives, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR decrees:
